1. What is FRRO?

FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It handles:

  • Registration and visa services for foreigners.
  • Monitoring their stay/movement.
  • Enforcing immigration compliance and national security.

2. What is C-Form?

  • A mandatory online form for foreign nationals staying overnight at hotels, homestays, hospitals, etc.
  • Captures guest’s name, passport, visa, address, duration of stay.
  • Must be submitted within 24 hours of check-in at from website https://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/FormC and after the check-out of guest, immediately inform by mail to FRRO.

3. What is A-Form / S-Form?

  • Used for long-term visa holders like foreign students or workers.
  • A-Form = Arrival report; S-Form = Student info form.
  • Submitted by universities, employers, or medical institutions.

Categories of A/S Forms:

  • Tourists
    Foreign nationals visiting India for tourism purposes.
  • Business Visitors
    Foreign nationals coming for business meetings, conferences, or related professional activities.
  • Employment
    Foreign nationals who are in India for employment under a work visa.
  • Student
    Foreign nationals studying in India.
  • Research/Training
    Foreign nationals involved in research, training programs, or internships.
  • Medical Treatment
    Foreign nationals in India for medical treatment.

6. How to Submit C-Form

  1. Register on https://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/FormC.
  2. Log in and click Submit C-Form.
  3. Fill guest details (passport, visa, arrival date, etc.).
  4. Submit within 24 hours of arrival.

7. Countries Not Required to Submit C-Form

✅ S-Form / A-Form:

  • Colleges & Universities (foreign students)
  • Employers (foreign workers on long-term visa)
  • Hospitals (medical visa cases)

9. Penalty for non-submission

  • Up to 5 years imprisonment, fines, or both.
